What is Mobee med?
Mobee med is an advanced German designed and manufactured Digital Goniometer with accompanying English software. It assists Clinicians performing a patient physical examination with accurate assessment and instant reporting of joint Range of Motion, in the 3-planes. It is now available in Australia and is a TGA registered Class 1 Medical Measurement Device.
How does Mobee med work?
This wireless and compact measurement device is placed on the relevant joints or body regions during the patient's physical examination. Then, a predefined joint motion is carried out in accordance with goniometric principles of the neutral-zero-method. The measured values are transferred to a laptop/pc via radio transmission and displayed on-screen in real time. Afterwards, results are saved for evaluation purposes and follow-ups.

How the measurement process works
mobee med guides you through the entire measurement process step-by-step. The sensitive 3-sensor technology allows for incredible measuring accuracy. It is also time efficient for clinicians with instant reporting of measured angles. The software automatically makes comparisons of the patient's measurements to built-in normative ranges, sourced from the evidence-base, and to the patient's previous measurements. These normative range values can also be modified by the clinician in the software.
mobee med enables almost all standard goniometric measurement procedures – whether in standing, lying or in sitting position. Rotational movements in the transverse plane have often been more difficult for clinicians to measure and manually record with standard goniometers or with less reliable visual estimation. Often there is a demand for the use of auxiliary constructions, accessory devices or even making it necessary to reposition the patient. Now all you need is one instrument to ensure a highly precise examination of joint mobility.
mobee med economises handwritten documentation. All measurements are automatically saved, including a comprehensive and descriptive illustration of the measurement results. The software instantly generates reports of findings for the busy clinician!
mobee med offers unparalleled assessment, which assists you in comparing measurement results between examinations, e.g. pre-post-treatment, in order to obtain evidence of success which is based on objective results. Graphic-based comparison of active and passive measurements to the other extremity as well as to reference sources is also possible.
mobee med delivers helpful additional information, like degree of pain or end feeling, and can even record pain arcs, e.g. during shoulder abduction. You can directly document these entries using your measurement device. The unique option “pain marker“, allows you to precisely locate pain areas.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Comprehensive Measurement Catalogue
With more than 100 measurement types, mobee med offers a wide range of measuring possibilities for virtually any joint (except TMJ, finger and toe joints).
Thanks to different positions (sedentary, upright, recumbent) it is possible to find the best option for every objective.
User Friendly Operation
The initial teach-in allows clinicians to perform measurements intuitively even if they have limited experience in range of motion assessment. The simultaneous display of the measurement process on-screen allows for an ideal overview during the whole measurement process.
Thanks to the wireless operation of the software via the measuring device, the clinician can focus on the patient rather than on the technical device.
Add User own profiles
Due to intuitive filter and drag & drop functions, Mobee med allows a timesaving creation of own measuring profiles.
Thus, it is possible to permanently save your favourite examination combinations in order to access them quickly for next time.
Neutral-Zero-Position impossible

Neutral-Zero-Position impossible
If it is not possible to reach the pre-defined starting position due to the patient's condition, this factor will be respected and documented by the system. Two options built in to the system will either automatically detect the starting position from true zero, or allow the practitioner to position the sensor at true zero and then calculate from the actual examination starting position.
Variable options for attachment
The measuring device can be attached to the elastic fastening belts included in the delivery by using special belt clips. Particularly when performing active measurement types (i.e. the patient performs the motion him- or herself), we recommend that the measuring device be put in a firm position.
Documentation of pain and end-feeling
It is possible to directly register pain arcs as well as their intensity during the measurement. The clinician can also document certain characteristcs of the end feeling during this process.
With the help of these additional documentation features, pain improvement becomes visible even in cases of stagnant mobility.
Status report for a quick overview
The first step of the evaluation is a compact status report, which clearly summarizes the relevant information.
The status report displays all gathered measurement data and can be a basis for the following diagnosis. Several graphical diagrams are available for detailed evaluation.
Comparison
The evaluation also includes a comparison to scientifically acknowledged reference values. Alternatively, it is possible for the clinician to add their own individual reference values.
This comparison is an effective way to further classify the achieved measurement results.
Comparison right/left and active/passive
Evaluation graphics illustrate the relative differences between right/left side as well as active/passive movement execution.
This evaluation can provide a basis for subsequent therapeutic measures. It is possible to document existing mobility deficits by comparing active and passive movement execution.
Space-saving
All components of the measuring system mobee med can be stored in a compact transport case. Thus, it is possible to transport and store the system comfortably using very little space.

What is Mobee fit?

MUSCLE LENGTH TESTING -made easy and professional- common muscle length testing using Digital Goniometry. To assess your customers' mobility status and prove the efficiency of the corresponding measures. Mobee fit is an advanced German designed and manufactured Digital Goniometer with accompanying English software. It assists clinicians performing a patient physical examination with accurate assessment and instant reporting of Muscle Length Testing. Just like Mobee med, Mobee fit applies standard goniomertric principles and presents findings as a muscle length test.
The use of high precision sensor technology allows you to determine your clients’ mobility status in an exact and reproducible way. While you focus on the client, the measurement results will be transferred to your computer via radio technology. A simultaneous live animation of the course of motion will be shown on your display screen to visualize the client’s movements. This does not only enliven the client’s experience, but also creates understanding and acceptance towards the measurement.
Time is money – that’s why the developers of Mobee fit have considered technical innovation as well as economic aspects of the application. The measuring process is characterized by its speed and its ease of operation. The necessary integration time within your organisation will be limited to a minimum, as the interactive teach-in function enables a prompt usage without intensive and time-consuming training.

A SAMPLE OF MUSCLE LENGTH TESTS IN THE MOBEE FIT CATALOGUE

Shoulders/Neck muscles
Muscular tension often occurs in this area. Particularly experienced by people who live sedentary lifestyles and lack exercise. This also leads to reduced mobility capacity, which can be detected with the rotation test comparing both sides.
Thus, this muscle length test is highly relevant, especially for people with sedentary lifestyles and those performing activities that strain the shoulder (primarily working above shoulder level).
Hip Flexor Muscles
A reduced stretching capacity of the iliopsoas muscle may result from repetitive bending activities (e.g. length sitting periods) or from unbalanced muscle use (e.g. intensive sprint training). In the long run, this may lead to strain on the lumbar spine, especially if the abdominal muscles are weakened as well.
The test must therefore may be seen as a test for determining the health of a person's back. The test results are highly relevant for the general population as well as for professional athletes.
Ischiocrural Muscles
The ischiocrural muscles are commonly prone to restrictions in flexibility. This area is frequently used as a general parameter to determine the overall mobility as in, for instance, the sit-and-reach test, where it interacts with the mobility of the back. A permanently bent posture (e.g. sitting) and/or unbalanced stress without adequately balancing stretching may reduce the stretching capacity. Reduced mobility can present itself during childhood and adolescence, if mobility and warm-up/cool-down exercises in the context of sports programs are neglected. In the long run, insufficient stretching capacity may have a negative effect on the posture of the spine, due to flattening of the natural lumbar lordosis.
Additionally, stress is increasingly placed on the back when flexing the torso, which may lead to an increased stress on the intervertebral disks, joints and other muscles within this region. Therefore, this test is particularly suitable for specific prevention of tension and pain in the lower back area, the so-called "non-specific back pain" as well as mobility restrictions in the lower extremities.
Lumbar extensor muscles
If the back muscles are overstrained, they become tense, which manifests particularly in the region of the lumbar spine. Similar to the problems of shoulder and neck tensions, psychological stress can often cause pain and limited mobility. During the rotation test, the extensor muscles of the back are stretched in the lumbar area to check their stretching capacity. Here, it is not unusual that there are differences between the different sides, which should be taken into consideration.
This test applies to all those, who want to avoid or counteract back problems in the long run.
Adductor muscles
A reduced stretching capacity of the adductor muscles can have a disadvantageous effect even when the mobility is age-appropriate. That is, because it limits the overall physiologically available mobility, which may cause an increased strain on the pelvis and the lumbar spine (e.g. evasive movements). A normal or good stretching capacity of the adductor muscles is particularly important to athletes in order for them to use the physiologically possible range of motion and also to avoid muscular strain and injuries.
On the one hand, this test is suitable for athletes who would like to optimize their sport specific performance level (e.g. acceleration or ball shooting strength) or who suffer from groin pain. On the other hand, general health problems, e.g. pain when walking, can also be influenced positively.
Calf muscles
Insufficient stretching capacity of the calf muscles especially leads to increased mechanical stress on the Achilles tendon, which may cause problems and harm in the long run. This may additionally lead to disturbances of the posture, which extends from the knee and hip joint up to the spine. Furthermore, regularly wearing unilateral footwear (e.g. high heels) can lead to deficits in mobility if it is not compensated.
Healthy standing and walking are an important basis to master everyday tasks like climbing stairs and lifting objects from a squat position (e.g. bags, beverage crates) without feeling any pain. Even fatigue pain in legs and feet can be prevented. Therefore, this test applies to all those, who want to stay in shape for everyday life and would like to work on their general health.
Straight thigh muscles
A reduced stretching capacity often develops in this muscle, typically combined with shortening of the hip flexor muscles. This restriction supports the intensification of the lumbar lordosis. In the long run, this may lead to a dysfunctional posture of the spine, accompanied by a corresponding increase in strain on the intervertebral discs of the lumbar spine.
This test is of particular interest in combination with the hip flexion test and is relevant for assessing body posture and a healthy back.
Pectoral muscles
Increased flexed posture in everyday life may cause a decreased stretching capacity of the large pectoral muscles over time. Working in a sitting position over long periods of time as well as other activities involving a bent forward posture intensify this effect. Correspondingly, unbalanced muscle training, which does not adequately take the opposing muscles into consideration, may lead to a reduction of the stretching capacity or to an intensification of a preexisting condition. An increased kyphosis (excessive forward curving of the spine) is usually accompanied by a limited stretching capacity of the pectoral muscles. Such a mobility restriction of the pectoral area can cause pain and tensions in, e.g. neck and upper back.
This test applies to all those, who sit a lot in their professional and/or private life and is an important addition when it comes to improving or maintaining a healthy back.
